Year 1 had an exciting day out at Samlesbury Hall. We learnt all about the people in the past and how they were different from today. We met Mistress Margery and she told us all about how people in the past didn't wash or eat many vegetables. We got to spend lots of time looking at the old building. In the afternoon, we even went hunting for some fairies and found fairy doors in the grounds of the hall.
Year 1 had a fabulous time at Blackpool zoo, we saw lots of animals and we walked around saying our poem from Literacy. We loved seeing the animals and watching how they move. We then had a lesson about Penguins, Possums and Pigs.

Year 1 had a wonderful morning with Real History Alive learning all about the Great Fire of London. We dressed up and danced, we learnt how the people in 1666 fought the fire and we heard about why the fire spread so fast. Take a look at the photos above to see everything we did.
