EYFS

The EYFS Lead at St. Paul’s is Mrs. C. Hollinghurst.

At St. Paul’s, we recognise that the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is essential in laying the groundwork for children’s learning and development. Our EYFS curriculum supports children in becoming confident, independent, and enthusiastic learners by building skills through play, exploration, and structured learning experiences.

We recognise that not all children learn in the same way, and we are keen to nurture children’s talents and interests across all areas of learning. At St. Paul’s, we celebrate each child’s journey through the EYFS and believe that to be a good learner in the Early Years, our children set an example in:

- Speech – by developing their speaking and listening skills through storytelling, role play, songs, and everyday conversations. Our children are encouraged to express themselves freely and clearly, ask questions, and listen to others with attention and care.

- Conduct – by learning how to manage their emotions, behaviour, and relationships. They are supported in developing routines, making choices, and following instructions. Children learn to work together, take turns, and resolve conflicts with kindness, tolerance, and respect.

- Love – by showing pride in their work and appreciation for the efforts of others. Children are encouraged to explore with curiosity and joy, embrace challenges, and learn from mistakes. We support them in building resilience, self-confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

At St. Paul’s, we aim to provide a nurturing, engaging, and enriching EYFS environment where every child can thrive and grow, ready to take the next steps in their educational journey.
