Music plays an important role in young people’s development, helping to build confidence, creativity, communication and teamwork skills. At St Paul’s, we support this through our music scheme and a wide range of musical opportunities in school, encouraging every child to enjoy, explore and develop their musical talents.

Our Music Scheme
At St Paul's we follow Charanga's NEW Creative Music Scheme which is an integrated, practical, exploratory and child-led approach to musical learning. Our music scheme gives children regular opportunities to sing and play a range of musical instruments. 

Musician of the Month
Each month, we focus on a different musician, exploring their music, genre, instruments, and influences. We discover interesting facts about their life and career while listening to some of their most famous pieces. It’s a fun way to explore different styles of music and learn more about the musicians who create them.

School Choir
Our school choir meets every Friday to practise and develop our singing skills. We enjoy performing at school events as well as in the wider community, including local churches and special events outside of school hours. It is a wonderful opportunity for pupils to share their love of singing and perform for others. This year, our choir will also be taking part in Let’s Sing, giving children the exciting opportunity to perform alongside other schools.

Musical Instrument Lessons
We are excited to offer musical instrument lessons to pupils who would like to learn to play an instrument. If you are interested in your child taking part, please get in touch with the school office or Mrs Hildersley, our Music Lead, for more information.
