Your child will be invited to take part in a Zoom online lesson each week with their class teacher and the rest of their class. You will receive an invitation to this lesson via email the day before the lesson and a reminder via text 1 hour before the lesson is due to take place. Below is a link to the Online Safety section of the school website where you will be able to access a helpful how to guide and a video to help you access zoom. This link will also take you to our Zoom Acceptable Use Agreement, Remote Learning Policy and a copy of the consent form that you will be sent via a survey.
Following government advice, from Monday 23rd March school will close for the majority of children. Home learning packs will be distributed to all children. We will continue to update online learning activities here for your child/ren to access. if you have any questions regarding the tasks set, please email your child's class teacher using the following email firstname.lastname@example.org. Teachers will endeavour to reply to every parent as soon as possible. These are unprecedented times so please continue to be patient if we are unable to respond immediately to any questions about home learning activities set.

This week I would like you to attempt the mini experiment found at the link below.
Have you ever seen pictures or videos of a roof being blown off a house during a hurricane or tornado? You might be surprised to hear that the roof is actually not pushed off by the strong winds but instead by the air inside the house! This can be explained by Bernoulli's principle, which states that fast-moving fluids or air, such as strong winds, have lower pressure than slow-moving air. In this activity you will demonstrate how balloons can be moved in a similar way. During the Spring term, PE sessions will be on a Friday afternoon. Please ensure your child has their full PE kit (with each item labelled and in a bag) in school with them every day. PE kits should only be taken home at the end of each half term. In addition to their PE kits, Year 5 children will also require a swimming kit (shorts/costume and towel). These will be required every Tuesday.
Please ensure your child brings their reading book and diary to school each day.
